Broadlands

Biodiversity Project

Tolaga Bay, Tairāwhiti

About this project

Broadlands is urgently looking for solutions for their land, which has been heavily impacted by recent extreme weather events. Seeking solutions for silt and debris cleanup, future cropping, wetland restoration, native reforestation and flood mitigation, the owners are open to possibilities.

This area on the East Coast is long established for farming and is bounded by areas of native forest, mountain streams and prolific birdlife, including a beautiful QEII block that has been impacted by silt.
