Te Tinaku o Rangiuia Rd is providing space for whanau to revitalise the practice of growing kumara on a large scale.

Uawa was known for the prolific kumara maara, entrenched in the many pūrakau of our connection to kūmara, we want to continue that history by growing with our children and our community.

Alongside the kumara we are growing uwhi, taro and hue on smaller scale, all of which, are kai that were brought by our tipuna to Aotearoa.

As well as kai from our waka, we are growing spray-free vegetables that we distribute at little cost to our community.
