At the Whare Ora build site we are setting up a resource station of useful offcuts for the community to access and reuse materials instead of these going to landfill.

We intend to set aside insulation, untreated timber, corrugated iron, firewood, sawdust and cladding. We want to build a safe, accessible covered area that allows for our community partners to collect these materials at no cost.

We believe that this project will benefit community resilience by having greater access to resources within the region, increase resourcefulness by encouraging different ideas for reuse, reduce methane emissions by keeping organics from landfill and reduce consumption emissions overall.
